The Girona province

The province of Girona is a mixture of sea and hills, valleys and mountain ranges, where visitors can enjoy an attractive touristic, cultural, natural and gastronomic offer. You can go on the Salvador Dalí route, which includes visits to Port Lligat, Cadaqués and Figueres; follow in the footsteps of Josep Pla in Palafrugell and S’Agaró; try the “volcanic cuisine” in the Garrotxa region; discover the Núria sanctuary and practice all kinds of sports (sailing, cycling, climbing, skiing…).

Museos

Museos

Girona has an extensive cultural programme for its visitors. The city has a total of seven museums, among which are the Archaeology Museum of Catalonia, located just over half a mile from Hotel Peninsular, in the old monastery and of Sant Pere de Galligants, one of the most representative symbols of Catalan Romanesque; the Cinema Museum, where you can discover the history of film since its origins up until today; and the Museum of Art, located in the old episcopal palace next to the cathedral, just 5 minutes away from Hotel Peninsular.

Historic Girona

Historic Girona

Girona, the city of the four rivers, offers a large variety of places of great interest, starting in the Jewish Quarter (Call), a reference in the history of Girona, which is an area full of life, culture, shops and restaurants, as well as the access gate to the city’s most important architectural heritage. The Cathedral, the Arab Baths, the churches of Sant Feliu, Sant Pere de Galligans and Sant Domènec and the city wall walk make Girona a city of great historic legacy.
